Product Description

The KY-024 Linear Magnetic Hall Sensor Module is a reliable solution for magnetic field detection. When a magnetic field is present, it outputs a high-level signal, making it ideal for RPM sensing (shaft revolution counting), robot speed & distance measurement, door switch sensing, and robot arm position detection. Its adjustable sensitivity and dual outputs (analog & digital) make it easy to integrate with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other microcontrollers.

Features

  • High-quality S49E Hall sensor
  • Wide-range voltage comparator LM393
  • Adjustable sensitivity via onboard potentiometer
  • Signal output indicator LED
  • Both Analog (AO) and Digital (DO) outputs

Connection Diagram

Power: Connect VCC (+) to +5V and GND (-) to Arduino GND.
Digital: Connect D0 to Arduino Pin 3.
Analog: Connect A0 to Arduino A0.

  • KY-024 A0 → Arduino A0
  • KY-024 G → Arduino GND
  • KY-024 + → Arduino +5V
  • KY-024 D0 → Arduino Pin 3

Specifications

  • Power Supply: 2.3V – 5.3V DC
  • Supply Current: < 9mA (LED off)
  • Output: Open collector, sinks up to 20mA
  • Magnetic Sensitivity: 50 – 350 Gauss
  • Sensing Distance: Depends on magnet strength
  • Dimensions: 27.0mm × 15.5mm
  • Mounting Holes: 2.0mm
  • Connector: 4-Pin 0.1" header (VCC, GND, DO, AO)

Typical Applications

  • RPM sensors for shafts, motors, and wheels
  • Robot speed and distance measurement
  • Door/open-close detection for security systems
  • Robot arm/joint position sensing
  • General-purpose magnetic field detection in DIY and educational projects

Note:

  • AO provides a continuous analog output proportional to magnetic field strength.
  • DO is a digital “alarm” output that toggles when the field crosses the threshold set by the onboard multi-turn potentiometer.
