Product Description

The Sharp GP2Y0A41SK0F Infrared Distance Sensor is a reliable solution for projects that require precise distance measurement. Unlike simple bump detection, this IR sensor gives your robotics or electronics project real obstacle avoidance and motion-sensing capabilities. It’s also a great fit for stationary applications where accurate distance detection is essential.

Key Features:

Operating Voltage: Works within a range of 4.5 V to 5.5 V for stable performance.

Power Consumption: Average current draw is 12 mA. Note: The sensor draws current in short bursts, so it is recommended to use a 10 µF capacitor or larger across power and ground near the sensor for stable operation.

Measuring Range: Accurately detects distances from 4 cm to 30 cm (1.5″ to 12″).

Output Type: Provides analog voltage output for easy interfacing with microcontrollers and circuits.

Output Voltage Differential: Delivers a typical differential of 2.3 V across the measuring range.

Update Period: Fast response time with an update cycle of 16.5 ± 4 ms.

Compact Size: Dimensions: 44.5 mm × 18.9 mm × 13.5 mm (1.75″ × 0.75″ × 0.53″).

Lightweight Design: Total weight of just 3.5 g (0.12 oz), making it ideal for compact electronic systems.

This Sharp GP2Y0A41SK0F sensor is a cost-effective alternative to ultrasonic rangefinders, offering dependable distance detection from 4cm to 30cm. Each unit comes with a 3-pin JST PH connector and a 20cm cable for easy integration with your projects.

How it works?

The sensor emits infrared light, which reflects off nearby objects. The returned analog voltage corresponds to the distance — the closer the object, the higher the voltage output.
